Table of Contents

How far will we go to create new fun and exciting drinks? As far as we can! And talking about extreme drinks, today I’m sharing a Frankenstein-like concoction that’s surprisingly tasty!

What would happen if you infused your favorite brew with chocolate and peanut butter? After all, coffee, chocolate and peanut butter are all tasty ingredients on their own. What could go wrong, right?

Well, I’m glad to report nothing went wrong. In fact, I discovered in this unusual recipe a fantastic heart-warming drink that’s more than a specialty coffee drink; it’s almost dessert in a cup!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Coffee Recipe

How to make a chocolate peanut butter coffee recipe?

For this recipe, I start with a cup of drip coffee, but please use any type of coffee. Cold brew, percolator, anything goes as long as it’s tasty and you like it that way.

You want the coffee strong, though, since we’re infusing it with pretty intense flavors. First, chocolate syrup, which will make the coffee taste like mocha. Then, the peanut butter, and go for plain or chunky; that’s your call. Try using all-natural peanut butter, though — if unsweetened, even better.

Finally, we’re adding a splash of cream or milk since it will make the drink creamier and overall nicer. Finally, taste and adjust the sweetness to your liking.

How much do you need to stir the coffee to dissolve the chocolate syrup and peanut butter? Stirring for one entire minute worked for me to eliminate the final traces of peanut butter on the bottom of my cup. Make sure the coffee is steaming hot! That’ll help.

Substitutions and Variations

Now that we’ve proved that chocolate, peanut butter and coffee are compatible, let’s take it to the next level.

I love using almond butter instead of peanut butter, as it is somewhat milder and sweeter in a way. I have tried this one with pecan butter as well, but, although delightful, pecans can be too flavorful and tropical for this one!

Try several types of nut butters, and experiment with different chocolate syrups and sauces.

Even dissolving a chocolate bar in the coffee will work fine and will elevate this contemporary classic to unforeseen heights!

Are you ready to experiment a little? Let’s make ourselves a fun cup of coffee.
