If you don’t have a mason jar filled with cold brew coffee in the fridge right now, you’re missing out big time. The fruity and non-bitter infusion is coffee reinvented, and it will change how you see your favorite caffeinated drink.
And although a cold brew is fantastic, it’s also a building block for other tasty drinks. If you thought cold brew wasn’t compatible with creamy and quirky drinks, think again!
Today we’re making a sensational, yet super-easy cookies and cream cold brew coffee. This strikingly unconventional drink is worthy of the highest praise, and it’s super easy to make.
To make this specialty, you’ll first need some cold brew coffee. Although there are many ways to make it, I like the ground coffee to water ratio of around 1:8. And I use medium-roast Arabica. 12 hours in the fridge hits the sweet spot for me. Stir every few hours.
Once you have a batch of cold brew, pour yourself a cup and blend it with whole milk, white chocolate sauce and vanilla extract. You’ll get a rich and creamy drink with a buttery mouthfeel and the sweetest coffee flavor! This is not a Cookies and Cream coffee just yet, though.
To finish the drink, crush 2-3 Oreo cookies and mix them with the creamy coffee. This time with a spoon and not the blender to avoid blitzing the cookies!
An airy whipped cream layer is all you need now, and it’s a terrific opportunity to top off your creamy delight with even more crushed cookies.
Now that you know your cold brew can be the base of a bunch of delicious coffee drinks let’s substitute Oreos with M&Ms for a creamy rainbow coffee and use regular chocolate syrup instead of the white chocolate sauce for a more intense drink.
Remember, cold brew coffee is tasty but milder than regular coffee, so try not overpowering it with other ingredients.
Cold brew is as versatile as any other type of coffee, and in many ways, it’s better. Let’s show cold brew coffee some love! Now I’m sure you’ll always have cold brew around.
In a blender, add the coffee, milk, chocolate sauce and vanilla extract. Blitz until smooth.
Pour into a glass filled with ice and scoop in the crushed Oreo cookies.
Garnish with whipped cream and more crushed cookies.
