Do you have trouble sleeping? Then this recipe is for you. If you don’t, you’ll love it too!
Let me tell you about lavender. This French Provençal bud is more than a gorgeous purple-hued flower. It’s incredibly healthy.
Lavender is highly useful to reduce stress levels and anxiety, guaranteeing a good night’s sleep. The flower is also excellent against headaches, and it’s good for your skin. Above all, lavender is delicious; it transports you to the countryside.
Then there’s honey, the perfect complement for the healthy lavender. If you have common cold symptoms, honey will do magic for you. But it’s also a fantastic sweetener.
So, here’s the deal. Most coffee shops that serve similar drinks use lavender syrup. That’s all right, I guess, but nothing compares to natural flavors, so we’re making our lavender latte from scratch with all-natural ingredients.
That’s easy, with lavender tea. We’ll be brewing ourselves a strong cup of lavender tisane and use it as a base for our creamy latte. For richness, we’ll be using half and half, which will add an unctuous feel to our latte, and honey, well, will sweeten our latte beautifully.
Every time I cook with flowers or make flowery drinks, I use honey. After all, honey comes from flowers, and if you look closely, honey is a bit flowery too.
Since we’re making the effort of brewing lavender tea and all, make an effort to find nice honey. There are gorgeous jars of honey out there, and they can be quite complex. Trust me, once you find gourmet honey you like, you’ll cherish it.
A lavender honey latte is as good as its ingredients and done right it’s fit for royalty; it’s a noble, warm drink indeed.
For this one, a good piece of cheesecake is lovely. Japanese jiggly cake topped with powdered sugar is fantastic too. Fruit tarts, crumbly cookies, and macarons, they’re all excellent pairings. Keep it high-end; this latte is worth it.
Now we’re ready. Let’s make ourselves some lavender tea and with it, a gorgeous, frothy lavender and honey latte. You’ll love it; I know I do!
Add the lavender tea bags to half a cup of boiling water to make a concentrated lavender extract.
Blend all the ingredients together with a hand blender until frothy.
Pour the latte into a mug and decorate with lavender buds.
