Keurig Coffee Maker Iced Coffee!

Summertime is the perfect excuse for cold icy treats. So why should you sacrifice your need to cool down for the sake of your energy dose?

Why not combine them both and let your glass of iced coffee take some of that heat off? No annoying trips to your favorite coffee shop needed, no overwhelming methods involved. Your coffee dose, a handful of ice, and your Keurig machine are all that’s required!

Making Iced Coffee with Your Keurig Machine

It may seem like a complicated process, but making Iced coffee is pretty straightforward. And the best part? It can even be prepared with your regular Keurig machine.

Here is what you will need:

  • Your favorite K-Cup
  • A glass or cup
  • A handful of ice cubes
  • Milk and Sugar to taste, optional

And here is how it’s done in just three steps:

  1. If you have enough water in your machine, add your K-cup, and turn it on.
  2. Place the ice in your cup or glass (if you have a glass that can survive the hot-and-cold heat difference, that is), and brew directly over it.
Alternatively, you can add the ice to a serving glass, brew in a different cup, and then pour the brew slowly over the ice.
  3. Stir in your add-ins (quickly!), and enjoy!

Keurig Machines for Iced Coffee?

Regardless of the type of Keurig you have sitting on your counter, it can be used for making one killer iced coffee. However, Keurig has also thought about your caffeine needs in Summer, and so they’ve created the K-Elite.

With the K-Elite machine, you already have an Iced function. The difference between the “iced” and the regular brew is that, by using the iced program, your Java will be more concentrated, meaning, it will take a lot longer for the ice to dilute your coffee.

Though, if you’re a bottoms-up-in-three-gulps kind of drinker, this will not make such a difference.

Use Stronger Coffee  The ice will mellow the sharpness of your brew. If you enjoy a strong kick, we recommend going for a more intense, dark roast.

Use a ThermosWant your Iced Coffee to last longer? Fill your thermos cup with ice, and brew directly into it. That way, you get to take your time with the sips.

Use Cold MilkIf adding milk, make sure it is directly from your fridge, to prevent the ice from quickly diluting the coffee.
