Are you planning to throw a welcome summer party? Well, considering the recent situation, you can only throw a party for yourself but still, what’s classier than serving refreshing peppermint mocha as a greeting drink? It is super easy and you can also adjust the number of ingredients as needed.

I am a huge fan of coffee; I don’t only like drinking it but making different kinds of recipes is also my passion. So, I often try out all the possible yummy combinations when it comes to coffee. In summer, I love the flavor of coffee when it is coupled up with chocolate and peppermint. Chocolate makes it decadent while refreshing peppermint makes its flavor bloom.

I prefer to buy a bottle of peppermint extract to add flavor in my drinks but you can use the homemade extract as well. Besides, you can play with its ingredients by being creative with this recipe. It’s very flexible; you can use any kind of milk you want. Whether its soya milk or low-fat milk; everything will work.

The best part of refreshing peppermint mocha is that you don’t need any fancy ingredients to prepare it. I’m sure all the ingredients can easily be found in your pantry. If you are a fan of espresso then you would already have an espresso maker at your home; but if you don’t have one, no worries, you can simply use extra strong coffee.

I usually make this peppermint mocha by mixing espresso and dark chocolate. But you can use the homemade chocolate syrup as well; for this combine 4 tbsp of Cocoa powder with 3 tbsp of warm water and stir it until it becomes a rich chocolaty syrup. I also add sugar in the mixture of espresso and dark chocolate because I have a sweet tooth. If you don’t like your coffee to be that sweet you can always skip the sugar.

This easy-peasy recipe involves only a few steps. First add milk, chocolate syrup, and sugar in a saucepan and heat it. When the mixture is smooth, pour espresso in it. Stir it until well combined and then add peppermint extract at the end and stir once again. Peppermint mocha is ready! Now be generous and top it with whipped cream. If you like popping colors in your coffee, you can always garnish it with chocolate, peppermint leaves, and candy cane. It will look energizing!

First add milk, dark chocolate, and sugar in a saucepan.


Heat it over medium heat until small bubbles begin to form and sugar has dissolved.


Pour espresso in it when chocolate is smooth and stir it.


Add peppermint extract to this mixture.


Pour the coffee into your coffee mug.


Top with whipped cream, candy can, crushed chocolate, and peppermint leaves.
