Vanilla is heartwarming, inviting, and evocative of the nicest times. We all love vanilla and should eat more of it! Yes, vanilla is a fantastic flavoring, and it’s even better when all-natural. Still, we rarely make smoothies with it, and that’s a missed opportunity.
Here’s a recipe for a healthy vanilla smoothie made with almond milk and a few other creamy ingredients and spices that make the vanilla and cinnamon combination shine. If you’re tired of fruit smoothies, make this one instead — it’s a beautiful addition to your smoothie rotation! You’ll love it!
The thing with smoothies is that they’re meant to substitute for a light meal or keep your hunger at bay between meals. Smoothies are filling and flavorful, but they’re also somewhat healthy — they’re the best of two worlds: flavor and wellness.
Vanilla smoothies taste like creamy milkshakes, and that’s fun as well. Still, there’s no ice cream in this smoothie, but plant-based milk and coconut cream, so this bad boy is also vegan, in case you’re into that!
Either way, this vanilla cinnamon smoothie is a lovely drink and a drinkable dessert — It’s also a wonderful quick breakfast, but you can enjoy it at all hours. If you love brown spices and the sweet vanilla scent, this drink is for you.
To make this creamy smoothie, we’re using almond milk, but you can also use coconut milk or oat milk. Regular milk is okay, too!
We’ll also need coconut cream, the sweetened kind, as it will give body and sweetness to the smoothie, eliminating the need for adding sugar. A frozen banana (cut into slices before freezing) is an excellent smoothie thickener that adds tropical sweetness to the smoothie.
Then we have the flavoring agents — almond extract, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon. The trio is fantastic, as it tastes like home-baked goods!
Garnish your smoothie with coconut flakes, extra ground cinnamon and whole almonds for an Instagram-worthy vanilla smoothie. And ensure you serve it chilled for best results. When you thought you knew smoothies, you find beauties like this one.
Blend the almond milk with the frozen banana, coconut cream, almond extract, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
Pour into two serving glasses and garnish with coconut flakes and almonds.
