White Chocolate Mocha Recipe

Table of Contents

We all know that chocolate and coffee were born to be enjoyed together. Cacao and coffee beans complement each other marvelously.

The famous mocha, whether it’s served hot, over ice or as a slushy, is always delightful. Of course, there’s more than one type of coffee, and there are many chocolate varieties. That creates a world of possibilities that, to be honest, none of us have explored.

The right type of coffee with the correct chocolate style means there’s not only one mocha, but many. My recent favorite? The white chocolate mocha.

Every new type of coffee brings its own challenges; for our white chocolate mocha, that’s the chocolate flavor. If you were to put together a regular mocha, you would probably just use chocolate syrup, and you’re done. For white chocolate, it’s not that easy.

White chocolate syrups and sauces are generally not very good, which means we must make our own. Today we’re making ourselves white chocolate milk on the stovetop using real white chocolate, and we’re using it to flavor our mocha.

The recipe below serves two white chocolate mocha cups to make the hard work pay off. Also, because this caffeinated drink is so good, you know you must share it with someone. That means starting with 14 ounces of whole milk or any milk alternative you prefer.

We’re heating the milk on the stovetop and melting in half-a-cup of baker’s white chocolate chips. We’re adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract too!

With our warm chocolate-scented milk ready, we’re building a mocha as we’d usually do, which is the easy part. Keep in mind you can technically use the same ingredients for an iced white chocolate mocha or a Frappuccino version. I like mine steamy.

And yes, since we’re treating ourselves with this lovely concoction, why not top it with whipped cream? Let’s do just that. Optionally, shave off some white chocolate over the whole thing for a drink that’s ten times better than store-bought!
